Cambridge, OH --- Bobcats fall to the Quakers 35 to 10.
The Cambridge Bobcats fell to the Quakers of New Philadelphia 35-10. The Quakers racked up 459 yards of total offense against the Bobcats with the majority of the yards coming from New Philadelphia running back Jamal Johnson who rushed for 258 yards on 27 carries with 2 touchdowns. Jacob Schubert went 15 of 25 for 129 yards and a touchdown for the Bobcats with the main target being Riley Haghurst who caught 8 passes for 76 yards. Eric Fox also added on a 22 yard field goal for the Bobcats as Cambridge moves to 4-5 on the season and 1-3 in the league. New Philadelphia moves to 8-1 overall and 3-1 in the league as they look forward to the playoffs. Next week Cambridge will head to Byesville to take on the 6-2 Meadowbrook Colts in their annual rivalry game. New Philadelphia will travel to take on 6-2 Dover next week.
Barnesville, OH --- Shamrocks blast past Rockets 37 to 16 in last home game
The Barnesville Shamrocks came out strong in their last home game of the season as they took out the Conotton Valley Rockets 37 to 16. Dylan Burkhart led the Shamrocks with 85 yards rushing and a touchdown. Daniel Brown added 56 yards rushing on the game as well. Quarterback Autstin Hannahs went 3 for 4 with 76 yards and 2 touchdown passes on the game. The two touchdown passes were a 25 yard pass to David Stewart and a 16 yard pass to Tyler Carleton. For the Conotton Valley Rockets, Jordan Masters led the team with 92 yards rushing and a late 4th quarter 65 yard touchdown run. Brandon McCreary also added 43 yards rushing. The Rockets had 2 interceptions during a sloppily played game that saw 12 penalties for 110 yards for Conotton Valley and 7 penalties for 75 yards for Barnesville. Barnesville moves to 2 and 7 on the season with the win and will battle state ranked Shadyside next week to close out their 2013 season. Conotton Valley moves to 1 and 8 with the loss.
Redskins stop two-point conversion attempt to preserve win over Cadets
The Caldwell Redskins took it down to the final minute of their game against Fort Frye on Friday night, but were able to escape with a nail biting 20-19 win over the Cadets.
With 1:15 left in the game and Caldwell leading 20 to 13 the Cadets scored a touchdown on a 17 yard run by quarterback Chandler Lang to come within one. The Cadets took a chance going for the win but were stopped on the one yard line on the two point conversion attempt to fall to the Redskins. Chandler Lang finished the night for Fort Frye with 165 yards rushing and two touchdowns... while Caldwell running back Bricker Lori put up an equally impressive 164 yards and 2 touchdowns of his own. Lori also had a huge 76 yard touchdown run in the 4th quarter to break a 13-13 tie. Fort Frye drops to 6-2 overall on the season. Caldwell improves to 6-2 on the season and travel to Zanesville next week to take on West Muskingum.
