In high school volleyball tournament action from last (Thursday) night, in Division Two at River View High School, John Glenn suffered a narrow loss to West Homes, three sets to two (25-26, 23-25, 25-17, 19-25, 15-4). In Division Three at Meadowbrook High School, Buckeye Trail earned a hard-fought win over St. Clairsville, three sets to two (by scores of 25-14, 26-28, 25-20, 18-25, 15-11). Trail advances to face Tusky Valley at 6 p.m. Monday in the District Tournament opener at Cambridge High School. In an earlier contest, Barnesville was eliminated by Fort Frye in straight sets (25-13, 25-15, 25-23). In the Division Four Tournament at Barnesville High School last night, Shenandoah powered past Shadyside in straight sets (25-5, 25-6, 25-4). That was followed by Caldwell's win over Beallsville, three sets to one (25-18, 21-25, 25-19, 25-9). The two Noble County rivals return tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon at 1:30 to compete for a berth in next week's District Tournament at Buckeye Trail High School.
