CAMBRIDGE, Ohio -- Fire investigators are expected on Monday to return to the scene of Friday's devastating blaze in downtown Cambridge.
Members of the Cambridge Fire Department and State Fire Marshal's Office plan to reconstruct the origin and path of the fire that destroyed the Bon-Ton photography studio and apartments above it. Fire officials speculated on Friday that a couch may have caught fire in one of the apartments, then spread throughout the building.
Crews from five area fire departments responded to the scene on Wheeling Avenue just after the fire started at 11:30am. All those in the building escaped before the fire became too large; however, one 64-year-old resident reportedly suffered burns to his hands and face.
Later Friday afternoon, Cambridge Fire Chief Jeff Deeks gave AVC News specifics of the situation:
Firefighters have been monitoring the building since Friday, watching for hot spots. AVC News will bring you more information as it becomes available.
