PAINESVILLE, Ohio (AP) - State troopers in northeast Ohio say multiple crashes involving up to 40 vehicles shut down an 11 mile stretch of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 90, east of Cleveland, for several hours Tuesday.
The crashes began before noon Tuesday near the city of Painesville. Troopers say snow and ice were making driving conditions hazardous in that area of Lake County at the time.
Troopers say there were no serious injuries in the crashes.. The roadway reopened to traffic late yesterday afternoon.
Interstate 90 links Cleveland with Erie, Pa., and Buffalo, N.Y.
