GUERNSEY COUNTY, Ohio -- Charges are pending against a Guernsey County man accused of holding hostage and assaulting a woman over the weekend.
According to reports from the Guernsey County Sheriff's Office, the female victim came into the County Law Enforcement Center on Sunday morning, reporting that her boyfriend, 41-year-old Robert J. Enochs, had held her captive in his Center Township home for more than 12 hours on Saturday night and Sunday morning. The woman said that Enochs had beaten her violently and sexually assaulted her before releasing her at around 7:30 a.m. Sunday. The woman was transported to Southeastern Med in Cambridge for treatment of multiple, visible injuries and released.
According to Detective Sam Williams, Enochs turned himself in to authorities on Tuesday morning, and will be arraigned on Tuesday afternoon.
Enochs has been charged with a felony-one count of kidnapping. Detective Williams said that additional charges, related to the alleged beating and sexual assault, will be submitted to the Guernsey County Grand Jury for possible indictment.
