COLUMBUS, Ohio - A former choir director at an Ohio high school has been arrested and accused of soliciting sex and naked pictures from teenage boys in exchange for positions in the state fair's choir.
Zachary Ruppel, who is a former Noble County resident, was arrested Sunday on charges of compelling prostitution and disseminating harmful material to minors. Ruppel was released on bond and has a court appearance set for Tuesday. His home number was not listed and it is unclear whether he has an attorney.
In a report released Monday, Columbus police say that the charges involve two boys, ages 15 and 17, and that more may be involved.
Ruppel was the choir director at St. Francis DeSales High School in Columbus. Part of his position included recommending students for the annual state fair's choir.
