Two men have been charged in connection with the assault of a juvenile in Cambridge over the weekend.
According to the Cambridge Police Department, 21-year-old Kenneth R. Walter and 20-year-old Bryan M. Jeffery now face charges that include felonious assault and breaking-and-entering following Saturday's incident.
Reports show that officers were called to a Carlisle Avenue residence at around 3:00am Saturday to investigate a breaking-and-entering. During the home invasion, it was reported that a juvenile male was badly beaten and knocked unconscious. The alleged assailants then fled the scene.
Upon arrival, Police officers and deputies of the Guernsey County Sheriff's Office chased a suspect on foot onto South 11th Street, eventually finding that subject hiding on a nearby porch. The other suspect was found hiding inside that residence. Both men were reportedly covered in blood.
The victim, Walter, and Jeffery were transported to Southeastern Med for treatment. The victim's condition was not immediately made known.
Officers also located a shotgun in the weeds near the Guernsey County Senior Center, which was near the scene. There was no word as to whether the firearm was involved in this crime.
