BYESVILLE, Ohio -- As is typical this time of year, the Board addressed a long list of personnel items. Included on the list were a number of Colt Camp instructors, gate workers and substitutes. Personnel approved by the Board Thursday night include: Todd Bates (Brook Singers), Diane Box (flag corps director), new teacher to the district David Chambers (8th grade science), Kayla Diss (Jr. High cheer advisor), Jason May, Donnie Kerns, Justin Wells and Matt Weddle (assistant football coaches), and Jesse Wells (head wrestling coach). The Board also approved the resignation of Angela Jones.
Also approved was an overnight trip for the MHS golf team to Lima Ohio in August.
Some athletic-related changes approved by the Board for this year. Parking at athletic events will rise from $1 to $2. In addition, members of the Rolling Hills coaching staff will perform parking duties. Half of the money made from parking will go to the athletic dept., the other half, going to the individual sport programs taking part in the parking process.
In addition, the district will be offering this year all-sport parking passes. Cost of the pass will be $30, for the 45 varsity home games/matches scheduled for the 2013-14 school year. For students, the parking pass will be $10.
Superintendent Ryan Caldwell reported that the custodial staff and many others are hard at work preparing the buildings for the beginning of classes next month.
The district parking lot paving project should be completed this week, Also work is being done to eliminate drainage problems around the MHS stadium.
Caldwell thanked the many staff members and administrators that have been spending many hours getting ready for the new school year.
During the TIF-Race to the Top update, it was reported that due to other districts dropping out of the program, the Rolling Hills District has seen an allocation increase of $3,962.41.
